Leg pains for 9 weeks! Any ideas it's driving me crazy

Posted , 5 users are following.

Had tingling legs for approx 9 week (both legs but mainly left), painful left knee, pains in thighs & lower back pain.

Dr thought may have been trapped nerve from pain I was already having investigated in upper back but after having an MRI looks like this is not the case.

Any have any ideas or had similar experience??

Nerves can also get "trapped" by muscles or other tissues. MRI and Xrays of lower back and hips would be beneficial also to ensure no bone or joint problems. I had a trapped nerve in my right buttock which also gave me leg, thigh, ankle and knee pain. The worst was the night pain, while laying in bed... it drove me crazy.

I saw an alignment specialist who gave me some exercises and worked on my muscles around the lower back and hip and all my pain went away after 4 visits. Not sure what to call him, but a good chiropractor or physio or kinesiologist could also do this type of treatment. Apparently my problem was related to my lumbar spine posture after an injury I had 2 years ago. Hope this helps.

I'm no professional, but this sounds a lot like what my sister was diagnosed with... a pinched nerve in the lumbar area of her back. Not sure if this is at all related. Just something to consider. Best wishes!

Travis, what did your sister have to undergo before getting this diagnosis?

I'm not sure. All I know is that she saw the doc after a few months of symptoms. When I see her this wend I'll be sure to ask and get back to you.

Had same problem for months now. Doc says trapped nerve and put me on 600mg

Pregabalin a day, double the normal dose, for one month but to no effect.

Still suffering, think I need a new Knee, convinced an arthritic Knee is the main prob but doc thinks otherwise.
