Leg ulcer

Please help...with this head banging pain, every time I come away from the hospital, it's worse. I'm using 2 compression knee highs, which keep falling down, and am at my wits end, to control this pain.I'm alone so it's no joke.

Hi. I know exactly what you're going through after having leg ulcers for years, mainly around the bottom of the leg/ankle. The nurse used to put a patch of iodine on mine then a four layer compression bandages. Half way home was when the pain used to start.the stinging was unbearable. it was like a needle going straight through the ulcer. There is nothing that stopped the pain. painkillers helped a bit but not much. When I actually slept getting up in the morning was the worse pain. The nurse said there was nothing she could do to ease the pain. when the ulcer starts to heal over a bit that's when I found it was less painful. My last ulcer lasted for 7 months. I now have to wear compression stockings. i have knee length and thigh length. If they are falling down they won't be of any use to healing your ulcer. The nurse at the clinic should have measured your leg and ankle to obtain the correct size and fit. I'm sorry this is hardly of any use to you. I found walking helped a bit.

I hope your pain lessens soon.
