Length of first outbreak?

Had a question and hoping some could answer. I placed a post in this thread with some pics and was told it looked like folliculitis. Still worried it may be herpes. Finally should be able to get to the doctor next week. My question is, how long does the initial outbreak normally last? I know everyone may be different, but on average how long would most say? It seems from reading the initial outbreak is longer than subsequent ones. I'm currently on my 8th week of dealing with whatever this is and just wondered if that was common if it were to he herpes. Thanks and this board has been a comfort and great help the last few weeks

Hey, I'm the one who suggested folliculitis so you're probably looking for another confirmation. 8 weeks is awfully long for herpes... you're looking more between 2 to 4 weeks... I've looked at your picture again and it really doesn't look like herpes... but if it caused by yeast or bacteria... it will keep coming back. The doctor will prescribe you the right thing. Hang in there 😃

Thanks for replying on this one as well. I guess my concern was that stuff was popping up on my thighs and butt as well as the genital area. And then I also had stuff popping up on the stomach. It just has all been so odd and I haven't had time to get to the doctor so every day I'm obsessing over it.

It's understandable. But you haven't had any other flu-like symptoms like fever, sorness. Herpes blisters stings and are usually really painful. Yours look more like small pimples. Try to take a bath with baking soda or use aloes vera gel to see if it can stop the rash. You can also apply peroxide. Fungus loves moist areas, it's very common to have it where you have the rashes. Wash your towels ans bed more often to see if you notice a difference.

No fever, no soreness, and no painful blisters. I've been extremely itchy off and on the last couple of weeks in the genital area, but could be from the rash. I have been using an aloe vera gel and the rash has cleared up but I still have some new spots that have popped up. Not as bad, but still a nuisance. Does herpes always come with the painful blisters and lesions along with fever and soreness or is everyone different?

Everyone is different but there are always similarities. The fever usually comes with the first breakout only and then you get fewer and shorter breakout in time like 4 breakout a year or none. Blister can be small and mild but they usually burn and follow a clear pattern. It will itch at first and then the painful blister will appear.

In your case it's been too long and you have too many rash that itches...it feels really ublikely to be herpes. Maybe you need a pill of flucozanole to get rid of the fungus in and out your full body.

Not everything is herpes... I hope you see your doctor fast so you can relax 😃
