Lens replacement surgery, 6 weeks post op but still blurry.

hi, i have had lens replacement surgery 6 weeks ago on both eyes. i'm 45 so this was the recommendation. the surgery went well but im still blurry in the vision . The only way to describe it is if im wearing a dirty pair of glasses. im also seeing bright flashes of light on the outsides of my eyes when they catch the light. I have contacted the clinic but they have advised that i need to be patient and that it could take up to 4 months for the eyes to begin to focus. is this normal? am i just being impatient?
