Let myself down

Hi I’ve been drinking for about 3 years now, and before this but managed to give it up previously for 2 years when I quit smoking, so I drink cider cans, and when I was in my last job managed to control this as I had early starts, so would limit the cans to 3 a night,I gave my job up in November and am waiting to start my new job this after the weekend, another early start job, so since new year I’ve stayed off alcohol completely and felt very pleased with myself, until last night, I don’t know what made me have the first drink ? But I drank 2 cans of cider and half a bottle of red wine,???? And I hate wine,? I had some in the shed from xmas, I still have lots of alcohol outside, do I get rid now as it’s obvious I can’t control myself, I even went out yesterday to buy more soft drinks, then end up drinking alcohol, I’ve been reading everyone’s posts to keep me going, I even had a birthday after new year and stayed sober, I hate how I am feeling now, I’ve let myself down, but am determined to get back on the sobriety side of life again, especially as I’ve got a new job to start, and have to have my wits about me, has anyone else failed so early in the new year ?

If you have not had a drink since then, you have already done the right thing. If you think it could be a problem for you then give all that Christmas booze away, or save it for this Christmas smile Don't be so hard on yourself, you have tackled an issue well before it has got anywhere near a problem Physically.

Thank u for your reply, I know I’m hard on myself,  purely because I’ve got an addictive personality, I struggle to say no, I don’t want to end up worse than I already am, I will give the booze away, I’ve told my family I’m quitting booze, so I get some support. Just lack in will power, this site is amazing and keeps me going, apart from my slip up, I’m not gonna dwell on this, time to move on

Dear Tracey. Not to worry too much. You have done it before and do it again! Sober again. This is your year. Best of luck Robin
