Laceyh,
First I am not a trained professional or a doctor so please listen to their advice. I am just someone who has had Hyperthyroidism and now has Hypothyroidism. All of the symptoms that you are experiencing could be because your levels are too low (Hyper). Normal TSH levels are between .4 and 4. if they are below .4 then you are Hyper. If they are above 4 then you are Hypo. I would stop taking it because Levothyroxine lowers your levels and does not make them rise, there is another drug Hyperthryodism patients take call Methimazole that is used to increase levels. All adjustment to taking thyroid meds have an adjustment period and Levothyroxine takes days sometimes weeks to leave your system because it builds up in your system for weeks. All of the symptoms (besides back ache) could possibly be side effects of too much Levothyroxine in your system making you have Hyperthryodism. I say stop taking the meds and listen to the doctor and have your blood work checked in a few weeks to see where your levels are.
Sometimes women need to take medication during the beginning stages of pregnancy because the baby does not make their own in the first trimester or so and if the mother isn't making enough it needs to be adjusted. I take Levothryoxine 100 mg daily because I am hypo. When I become pregnant my dose will need to be increased to 120 mg a day and monitored until the baby starts making its own then I should be able to go back to my normal dosage once I have had the baby. So if your normal was no meds at all or a very low dose like 5 mg. Then is understandable that your doctor wants to take you off it. the side effects too will pass. I felt amazing when i was Hyper (i had radioactive iodine twice), and there was an adjustment period to regulating my levels. it got worse before better. But having Hyperthryodism is not good for your body, it is like your body working in overdrive nonstop. It creates long term problems just to name a few heart problems, eye problems, and hair loss. Good luck! I am glad to hear you had a successful pregnancy and a healthy little girl.

hi, do you have any blood test results at all? You seem to have a mixture of symptoms - hypo and hyper. You can be over medicated and under medicated but without your blood results and ranges we aren't getting the full picture. You can get the results from your GP reception, don't forget to ask for ranges of each test. When you have them put another post on the site and people will give more advice.

I was misdiagnosed for 12 years a nurse practitioner found my thyroid hormone to be low so she put me on levothyroxine while taking it she had me to come in and she drew blood for another test she found it to be normal .she took me off of levothyroxine and I been told that was a mistake once your on thyroid medication your on it for life they just have to adjust it to the right dosage .I switched drs and they drew blood after 10 years of seeing them my thyroid hormone was found to be low again so I went back on levothyroxine and getting my dosage right was somewht difficult for them so I saw another dr and they told me that dosage was right the opposite of wht people thought it was if it was low you would think that you would increase but you decrease and if its showing high then you decrease the medication so they finally after 3 months of going back to get my thyroid tested to see if it had balanced they had to adjust it and keep backing me off it was showing low thyroid mind you they had started me out on 100 so they finally after it was showing low for bout 6 months finally my next doctor visit it showed my levels were near perfect it had balanced out ..I had read a online were a dr from California was saying to take your levothyroxine at night so that nothing could absorb it so that's wht I been doing for 1 yr 3 months and I feel the best I've felt in years after almost dieing from them taking me off thyroid medication..I suggest you find a dr that understands that once your on thyroid medication you dont come off
