lexapro and my weight- will i be skinny again

i'm a 20 y/o female-

i was on lexapro for 5 years, and during the entire time i was a skinny girl, to the point where that was one of my defining characteristics.

over the past few weeks, my doc had me taper off of lexapro and i went from 20mg to 10mg to off of it completely. i started noticing that i'm getting extremely bloated all the time and i'm terrified of gaining weight a lot of my depression revolves around the fear of gaining weight. my doc decided i should go back on lexapro bc i began to spiral when i noticed the small changes (my friends say i look exactly the same) and i'm back on 10mg, but i worry i'll end up gaining more weight going back on lexapro. since i never had a problem with weight gain on lexapro was only off of lexapro for about 2 weeks, does anyone know what my outcome could be?

i would think you would still be skinny going back on given your history.

I am very thin as well, and was initially concerned that being on Lexapro would make me feel bloated/heavy. I was on a very low dose (5mg) and gained about 3-5 pounds while on it. I have since tapered off it and my bloating/weight gain immediately went away. I actually think the lower doses like 5-10mg cause more of the weight gain and bloating than the larger doses of 20 mg ironically.

I'm sure though as with any medicine, the longer your on it the more your body adjusts accordingly. I bet that's why you didn't notice anything when your were on it for 5 yrs consistently. I wouldn't be concerned - i'm sure it was just due to a sudden change in dosage!
