lexapro... does it work????

Hi there

Ive posted here before asking about my symtoms and alot of people said its anxiety so i decided to see a dr.

She said my symtoms sounded alot like anxiety and has given me a script for lexapro. She told me to start on 5mg then in a week to up my dose to 10mg.

So my questions are

1- does this medication actually work?

2- how bad does the anxiety get before it gets better ?

I should mention i have health anxiety, so im extremely worried about taking the medication cos i got told my anxiety will get worse before getting better.

Any feedback on this medication would greatly appreciated

    I am on lexapro and yes it gets worse I had time off work but now I'm able to leave the house sgain, work, drive etc it's worth the wait!!! I was terrified to take it but I'm now on 20mg n doing better yet I still have bad days!

      How long did things get worse for?

      Im afraid because i have kids and my anxiety is bad enough without getting any worse.

      I cant imagine things being worse, id be at breaking point for sure..

      I was supposed to start the meds this morning but got too scared to take them...

      Do u take yours in the morning or evening?

      If so in the evenings, does it help u sleep?

      About 2 weeks Hun then it will slowly fade! I have 2 toddlers also but if u can stick the few weeks out it's worth it! Some ppl don't have any side effects at all! Do u have family close by to help?

    My father in law used it. Higher dosage though.took almost two months where we saw a big difference. The initial mess last about a month then it just got better and better from there. I hope that helps. They can give you xanax to ise as needed for thise bad moments. But you cant use it daily then youll have worse issues still very useful. It really does get better but 10mg is kinda low dosage. Worth the crappy month if it ll works i know you know that. Think past the month. I think they should make it mandatory to give a cyp450 gene testing so they know what will work in a persons personal metabolism but they are all too cheap so they wing it.

    I'm on Lexapro 10mg and it seem like it's not working I have these crying spells I'm it's really bothering me and I take a half of 1mg of xanx at night to help me sleep and seem as that's the only time I feel better any advice anyone
