    good evening jenn

i'm so sorry to hear you're not feeling great. But it takes lexapro 6-8 weeks to get the full benefit so a long way to go yet. and its common to feel worse in the first few weeks. you can ask your dr to give you diazepam to help but you will feel better soon i promise

I felt the worst week three and four then all the side effects lessened and my depression/anxiety were way better. Good luck and hang in there!

I am so sorry your going through this. unfortunately it takes a long time to get better and you always feel worse before you feel better.

The tine frame is different for everyone and you just have to wait and see if the meds work. Sucky answer i know i was there.

You can ask your dr for a supplement for the anxiety.

I also found Calmful sleep to help me at night time.

    Magnesium also helps some people.

I wish i had a better answer for you but its all a waiting game. I pray you feel better fast.

Hi jenn, I know what you are going through, but it takes alot of time. I am also on lexapro . Anxiety will be worse before it gets better, but it will get much better.I took some klonopin for awhile to help with the anxiety and it worked well and then tapered down after a few months. Talk with your doctor. I also have a therapist that helped me alot. Best of luck and God bless.

it is so good to hear from you all, its nice to know im not alone. i had never changed meds before so switching made me nervous to begin with. today my doctor gave me klozapan to help take the edge off then i will be under the care of a pscyotrist instead of just my family doctor monitering my meds. i would not wish anixety on anyone. thank you all for the support and you are all in my prayers too

jenn it will get better. just be patient. i know patience and anxiety dont go together thats why its so hard. stay the course. when drs say 4 to 6 weeks just change that to months. its a gradual thing . stick with same dose and med for many many months. hang in there !!!

I made the switch from Citalopram to Escitalopram a year and a half ago:-). It did take a while to fell better again. For me it was about four months, but I did several increases to get to 15 mg. I'm doing really well on that doseage, other than the blip I'm going through right now;-).

I found going for long walks helped, as well as reading. Pretty much anything to keep my mind busy and not thinking about anxiety.
