Lexapro tired all the time! Advice?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've been on 10mg lexapro for 3 months now and I'm sleeping 12-14 hours a day! I am completely exhausted feeling, my anxiety has almost disappeared I have been completely off my Xanax for 2 months with minimal anxiety. My doctor suggested mixing Wellbutrin 150mg with the lexapro to help my energy. Has anyone heard or tried this? Results of so?

i remember when my doctor put me on wellbutrin. the other meds i was taking took away my sex drive, and i was feeling sluggish, and gained some weight. after a week or two on the wellbutrin, my mood changed. for the better. i felt alert, and dropped a few pounds, and my craving for cigarrettes was ALOT lower. i like it, its been at least ten years now, and no complaints. just one thing, the sex drive, never came back.

i am taking three150 mg tablets in the morning. in the beginning, he started me on two tablets, then it was slowly not doing its job, so he moved me up to three. and i am happy with them. i dont take them at night cause i'm afraid i'll be wired. but, i do take a few other medications. they all work well together.

What? Why would you need another anti depressant for energy? Why cant you lower the lexapro? Or switch meds although it sounds like it is working really well but exhausting you.

I'm not sure, the doc said Wellbutrin only would make my anxiety worse and to take them both, just had never heard of this before and wanted some opinions, I'll probably try it and see how it goes.

I was having the same problem being tired all the time and my neurologist put me on adderall thirty milligrams first in the morning, then she bumped it up to sixty and it has really helped me.

hi rachel!  i was having the same problem. feeling weak and tired, and skattered (is that even a word?)....so my doctor prescribed me ritalin. this was a life changer. i for the first time could sit through a movie, and read books, and understand everything! i didnt really know i wasn't doing the best i could until i was put on the ritalin. i take five 10 mg tablets throughout the day. 2 in the morning, 2 at lunch time, and 1 at four pm. if i take any after four pm, i have trouble getting to sleep. i asked my doctor if adderall would be better than than ritalin. and he said "same difference."  so, the ritalin has allowed me a better quality of life. so greatful to be on it!
