I am really paranoid of having this medication lexiscsn injected I to me. I've never had a nuclear stress text. I'm 36 have diastolic dysfunction but my last echo was perfect. I'm on beta blocker but due to on going chest pain here and there my cardiologist wants to due the text just in case. Has anyone had one and if so can you tell me how it will feel?

Sorry for a delayed reply but I'm catching up on emails & thought I'd try & help?
All the injected medication does is increases your heart rate so it mimics what would happen if you were on a treadmill. I cannot say the effects of this med feel good because I would be lying; however, the feeling is momentary & you will have medics with you during the process.
This is how it affected me. It didn't hurt, but was a bit scary because I felt so dizzy so suddenly. It was as though I had drunk multiple glasses of wine very very quickly! The effect, which I really didnt like, (although I like wine), wore off after a second or two. It is extremely rare for someone to have a more serious side effect; but thats why you'll have a Dr doing the injection & a nurse, or in my case 2 nurses, looking after you.
My aged father in law also recently had this test done. He agreed with me that the effect of the injection wasn't pleasant, but it lasted seconds & the rest of the test is easy. Our cardiologists now have a clearer view of what is wrong with our hearts because of the various tests so it was worth that moment of discomfort.

I convinced them to let me do the treadmill. I was able to complete that. Because I can physically do it. It's just a little harder. But I did it. And it turns out my heart and arteries are good.
