I have been diagnosed with lichen sclerosis and been on steroid cream for 3 days. can anyone tell me how long before steroid cream starts to work. Finding this so painful especially after having a wee and applying cream. Which is most effective steroid cream and least painful moisturiser. Its very painful any advice appreciated.

most people use clobetasol propionate, that is the strongest steroid cream. there's lots of different moisturisers to chose from, some people use oils too, I use epaderm, as a moisturiser, as barrier so urine doesn't get on the skin, ( I apply it several times a day) and also to wash with as it's recommended not to use soap on ls skin. I also have a small tub of hydromol.

edit: it's a common side effect of itching and pain for the first few days of applying the steroid cream but should calm down shortly after from what I know, then again every one reacts different.
