    Hi pammy

I have both LP orally and down below it's an absolute nightmare, do you have the burning mouth, my mouth has been so sore lately split on both sides got some cream off the doctor but it hasn't done anything it looks awful so I sympathise with you on this, and the doctors seem to dismiss it, how old are you pammy I'm 57 and went through the menopause in my 40s also I had cone biopsy years ago after an abnormal smear, have you ever had thus only I'm sure there linked

hi Karen, yes my mouth does burn occaisionally and sometimes I get red inflamed gums but nothing really too bad the white lines inside my cheeks and along the gum line are clearly visible but are not painful I use Difflam mouthwash when there is discomfort and it helps a lot until things settle down, as for down below I had a biopsy done on a red area and it came back as LP but it never caused any problems however what I have now is different and it sounds very much like LS I am 61 and had hysterectomy at 52 but I never had abnormal smears

I'm sorry this is happening to you! My advise is to have your Dr do a biopsy down below, first. I know they are not fun, but you want to make sure what you are dealing with. You do not want to treat for LS unless that is for sure what you have, also you want to start treating this agressively if is for sure LS. The treatment that seems to help most is to treat with Clobetasol. The webinar by Dr. Goldstein in "New to LS, start here" at the start of this forum is very informative.
