Thankyou for replying it's comforting to make contact with others who know of this autoimmune disorder.

i am going to make an appointment as early as I can and ask to see an endrocologist to try and get all my auto problems sorted by a specialist.

      Blessings ,

      Catharine.

      Dear Catharine,

      Good.

I really think we need to shop around until we find physicians who either have experience with and understand olp, or who are willing to learn.

      My prayers are with you.

      Love and light,

I currently have an appointment with an allergist to see if I can get my histamine levels checked. I've always had mild allergies but had never seen a allergist till now. Im 40 and have been diagnosed with skin LP. I never had a serious problem with allergic reactions till I started having gut problems. I have never been diagnosed with IBS

or anything but still struggle with gut problem from time to time which coincide with breakouts. I thought I had this under control and put in remission till this past weekend and was outside doing yard work. After the third day and a few drinks of alcohol over the course of those days I woke up to a severe breakout. Yeah me, I went 2-3 months with nothing not one breakout. After think about why now, what did I do differently? Well, the alcohol is high in histamine combined with doing yard work which raised my own histamine levels and a not so good diet that contains histamine rich foods "processed foods". I came to find myself researching histamine intolerance. It's worth a search if your struggling with LP of any sort.

-I take a probiotic that focuses on the Bifidobacterium strain- infant and longum which has helped. This strain is supposed to promote the break down of histamine that is ingested.

-I take a flaxseed oil tablet 3x a day with meals to help promote intestinal repair and for the Omega 3 fatty acids. After having a over growth of bad bacteria "candindius" yeast in my gut that caused all of this.

-I also am going to attempt a Paleo diet to help control my histamine ingestion after reading about histamine intolerance and the symptoms of high levels of it. Most of which I have like Inflammation, muscle twitching and spasms, skin flushing, clearing of throat, the list goes on and on.

Hi , I take Kefir which you can buy on the Internet, it is a live culture that has many benefits for the good bacteria in the gut.

I find it really helps, it's easy to keep the culture growing you just feed it fresh milk of any kind each day and drink the milk.

I have contact dermatitis issues of the scalp as well and some how my eye lids got it. I went to my dermatologist and she gave me a steroidal cream that knocked it right out. I also bought some dermarest shampoo along with T-gel that I alternate every other day and use on my scalp and face. I've had no reoccurring dermatitis since the switch, fingers crossed it stays at that way.

My symptoms were itchy water eyes that swelled and caused red streaks that made me look like I had been crying. After talking to my dermatologist and following her recommendations it cleared up. I hope you find relief.

An update to my breakout. Come to find out its an allergic reaction to prison ivy, thank god. I hate being a nervous nelly about my skin but it is quite uncomfortable at times.

      Best of luck to you.
