Lichen Planus no joke

I have suffered from this for 7 years.  First showed up in vagina area and doctors kept saying it was a yeast infection.  Finally they did a biopsy and it was confirmed.  Then 5 yrs. ago got stage 3 breast cancer.  Of course lost all my hair from chemo but it grew back not 100 % the same but almost.  Now lichens is on my scalp and I am losing all my hair.  They say it won't grow back because it damages the hair follicles.  Does anyone know if this is true.
