Have had my tongue surface covered with this for 10 years now . I have had no success with any treatment. Is there anyone with any new ideas I can use ?  As I am getting a bit desperate. Many thanks.

    Hi Spike,

Lichen Planus on your tongue for 10 years is terrible!   Have you not seen a Dermatologist, or Dentist?   As you must know, OLP is a skin disease and can attack any part of your skin, the largest organ in the body.

You could try oral thrush treatment, which is a paste you apply to your tongue.

The one I use when I get uncomfortable is called Cloritzamole, Candid, 15ml,

It really does help me .   You just paint it on your tongue and almost instant relief.

It usually works for me before things get any worse., and then I apply a cream caled Tosti.

I hope this helps you.  Don,t delay.  Good luck.

Hi Spike, not sure whether you have looked at Homeopathy.   I found it to be very helpful and effective, and if not its definitely worth a shot..I have had OLP for about 30 years and have managed it through homeopathy treatment.  Homeopathy works well for skin disorders.  Also stress is really bad for this condition so you have to watch for that.....best of luck

What homeopathey has benefit you? Did it cure you?

Hi, I used Arsenicum Album whenever I had a flare up and it worked well for me every single time without fail for many years.    Then I got sick with another nasty auto immune disorder which meant I had to take immune suppresants, and after that I found it a lot harder to get rid of  OLP using Arsenicum Album, mainly because of my other ailment I think.

That is my experience with homeopathy.

    Hi Spike,

I also have OLP which also spread to my esophagus.  My dermatlogist tried several medications before finding the one that worked.  He said I had the worst case he'd ever seen.  My mouth was totally coated with the white lesions and my tongue was swollen so much that I couldn't even talk. I could only eat Cream of Wheat or soup.  When my esophagus was affected I couldn't swallow my large pills (Metformin for Diabetes).  I had three surgeries on my esophagus which has allowed me swallow again and my mouth is clear (except for one area on my tongue which is raw) thanks to Mycophenolate Mofetil.  It took a while for my mouth to clear, but I can now eat normally if I keep the food off of the raw area.  Don't give up! Help is available.  Good luck and ask your doctor about prescribing the Mycophenolate for you to try.
