Lichen Planus - please read

Hi
I have suffered with LP for 36 years and have tried every cream, diet or latest fad that i could find. After my latest dissapointment, made in america, £35, has the word EMU in it, please avoid! my partner plodded off yet again to the chemist and returned with something i had never tried, good old CALAMINE LOTION!!!! and its so cheap!!
Every night, warm bath in baby bath, then smothered in calamine, if you have soft cotton gloves tape them on to stop night scratching. It is already drying it out and the spots are dropping off, plus no sticking to clothes or sheets. It forms a barrier on you unlike creams and potions. I swear i have tried every pill, cream, potion, and fad. Please please try this and would love th hear if it works for you. And maybe us poor sufferers can stop lining the pockets of companies who know just how desperate we can become.
Good luck xx

You poor thing. The one placed i have never had it too bad is my mouth. My tongue gets a little sore sometimes. Have you ever tried Corsodyl mouth wash. Swill it round your mouth and let it lay on your tongue for a bit. It may sting alittle but afterwards it should feel relieved. It also fights infection in the mouth just in case there is any there. My partner had really sore gums last week and after one wash round with it he felt a lot better. Could be worth a try.

Another symptom which I have is high Ferritin levels in my blood. Would this be a problem associated with Lichens Planus. What are your readings are they normal?
Perhaps there is a relationship between the two conditions.
I am trying to determine why I have this LP and am searching for answers.

So sorry to hear of your plight. I have heard LP can affect nails but not to the extent you are suffering. As for ferritin I have never heard of it nor has it ever been mentioned to me? What is it and what does it do?
Would taking a skin, hair and nail supplement help or is that not advised. I wish I could help more but I have never heard of this happening before.
