Dear Linda! oh so sorry.... after 9 months I'm finding myself blessedly comfortable. I know to remain humble however, as the comfort level has come and gone before now. LS surely does require a very vigilant attitude.
So, in the last 5 years have you figured out which food stuffs affect your LS?
Are you aware that LS and other autoimmune disease are mostly systemic internal imbalances?
(yes some of them are environmental - but the need to address the internal nutritional state is imperative.)
Have you read up on Vitamin D3 - the massive worldwide deficiency and the need for Autoimmune patients to get their D levels up to over 60 ng/dl?
Do you know your Blood D levels as w ell as VItamin A, magnesium, magnesium, magnesium etc? IF not be sure to call your doctors office and ask to be sent your most recent panels. - don't let them just give you the statement that everything "looks fine". No, most doctors are only taught that anything over 20 ng/dl is in the "normal range" NOPE... those medical researchers who look deeper have discovered what real health takes. We have to become our own researcher.
YOu'll find lots of articles here about the soothing effects of Aloe Vera gel, castor oil, olive oil, Vitamin E oil, and soaking baths with borax/boron and baking soda.
just in case - NO SUGAR!

HI
I AM SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR CONDITION AND DISCOMFORT.
I HAVE RECENTLY SEEN MY GYN ABOUT MY CHRONIC AND CONSTANT IRRITATION AND TEARING. SHE RECOMMENDED A VAGINAL MOISTURIZER CALLED REPLENS - LONG LASTING BEST PRICE IS AT WALMART .
IT HAS HELPED, IF YOU CAN'T INSERT IT, JUST USE IT EXTERNALLY UNTIL YOU CAN MANAGE IT . I AM TIRED OF SUFFERING WITH THIS AND LOSING TISSUE I AM NOT READING BOOKS ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEMI AM DESPERATE ENOUGH TO MAKE WHATEVER DIETARY CHANGES I NEED TO HELP I DO NOT WANT TO LIVE WITH THESE SYMPTOMS FOR EVER. I AM GOING TO DROP SUGAR, DAIRY, AND GLUTEN FOR A MONTH AND THEN START REINTRODUCING TO SEE IF ANY OF THOSE AGGRAVATE MY PROBLEM. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU

HI Susan- I just finished a 21- day transition 1 elimination - no gluten, no dairy, no sugar as recommended in THE AUTOIMMUNE FIX. It was challenging at first, especially avoiding things with hidden gluten( like soy sauce), hidden sugars ( condiments), hidden dairy ( dry or powdered milk products added to soups, etc), but I MANAGED to survive!
There are some great vegan butter products out there ( I used one that was avocado based), I used coconut milk creamer in my coffee and ate corn- based products and gluten free bread, cereals and crackers.
SO, DID IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE! YES!! For me it was the sugar, as soon as I RE- introduced sugar I got itchy, red, inflamed within a day or two. No more sugar for me!
FOOD ALLERGY TESTING IS NEXT!
Hang in there ladies! KEEP IN TOUCH!

The Clob may be a bit of a problem, it can thin the skin. In the start of my problems I was told to use it 2 times a week for a couple weeks also just the size of a pea portion.
I have been using 20 Mule Borax 1 teaspoon in cup of boiling water, mix it up till clear after water has cooled pour in a squirt water bottle and spray after each visit to the bathroom. Keep area clean using the mildest soap you can find. THEN I use Aquaphor, an over the counter healing cream, there are others brands as well in drugstores. I stick Q tips into the cream, and use to cover the area. This prevents any urine from irritating the area after I pee.
I hope this offers some help, also have it in my mouth, oral lichen. My oral surgeon gave me a script for this. Lichen must like moist areas.
Hang in there and keep on the blog it is full of information,

Sorry for your distress. I understand as I too am raw down there and have tried everything suggested on this site for relief and nothing has helped. Not sure if it is possible for you but if you could rest as much as you can so the movement of walking is lessened. I can't even walk hardly before problems start with discomfort. I have not tried the Aquaphor yet and think I will pick some up. I wish you blessings and may a solution be found for your discomfort.
