Lichen Sclerosis and oral Lichen Planus

Hi,

I have recently been diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosis after having a biopsy; however, i only ended up being referred to a specialist direct as I told my GP that I have a history of severe Lichen Planus in my mouth. Just wondering if anyone else suffers from both conditions?

    hi.

    I also have L.S which has only just been confirmed, but i have had lichen plantus for about three years. i would'nt wish either on my worst enemy.

    hello you two ,I to was diagnosed with LP some years ago and read then it could affect the genital area as LS,I think I had it sometime before it was Picked up at a smear test.I would urge any women with soreness after sex or itching not to be told it's only thrush,,,,,take a mirror and check that the skin is pink and not white,women are not told enough about this condition ,

    I have had really bad times with it ,so sore to leave off underwear,

    but now I have found that after putting the Betnovate(betamethasone valerate) cream on I leave it a few hours then cover the area gently with ordinary vasaline this not only \"waterproofs\" the area but acts as a skin softner ......may be worth a try for you, I have had breast cancer ,hysterectomy ,I was almost killed in a car crash in the u.s in2005 which left me with a perminant injury,,,,,,,,but you know what ? wish there was a trade in for L.S ,,,,,,,,,,try and keep smiling

    YES I MUST AGREE WITH YOU THAT WE WOMEN ARE NOT TOLD ENOUGH. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH LS ONLY ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO AFTER SUFFERING ITCHING AND DISCOMFORT AND PAINFUL SEX FOR TWO YEARS. BEING TESTED FOR THRUSH WHICH CAME BACK NEGATIVE ALL THE TIME. AT LEAST NOW I KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE THIS SKIN CONDITION AS THERE IS NO CURE YOU JUST HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO LIVE WITH IT. BUT THERE IT HOPE OF YOU READ UNDER LICHEN SCLEROSIS WHT I HAVE WRITTEN ON THE 28 JUNE 2008 LUCKILY I DO NOT SUFFER WITH LP SO I REALLY FEEL FOR YOU AS LS IS BAD ENOUGH

    hello there I suffer from both lichen sclerosus and lichen planus both are really awful conditions but after 4 months both are reasonably under control but its an on going thing I find its just getting the hang of keeping it under control once you are sure of yourself you can keep it to manageable proportions. I also have it all over my arms and back but only the vulva area itches and splits. I find its worse as it makes me feel so run down and listless .but at least its not itching and bleeding so I manage
