Lichen sclerosis large white spots

I have had this conditions diagnosed nearly 5 years ago but recently developed 2 larger than normal white spots (about the size of spots you would get on your face) - I am used to the small white spots but these are larger and more are appearing.  I did have one before in the vulval area which disappeared when I was treated for a uti strangely.  Have these spots happened to anyone else with lichens ?

    I am a male LS / BXO sufferer and have been dealing with the impact of the condition on the skin by using Clobetasol - for me this stops anything else occurring.  Have you found any form of regularly treating your condition by regularly application to keep it at bay?

      I am used to white patches rather than spots - the other issue I get if I do not regularly apply Clobetasol, sufficiently, is scarification of the affected skin tissue.

    Fortunately, it may be unfair in a way, but all the men I have heard from on these forums gets away very lightly with their LS symptoms in comparison to most women .....

      Hi Wee Dugie ... I have been using betnovate for the 5 years ... I tried others including Mometasone but I took a terrible reaction to that and the doctor reckoned the Clobetasol would cause similar problems.  I manage it ok but do get tiny spots and a lot of pain so use other things like moisturiser, coconut oil for that.  I find our experts all tell you different things and its very confusing so I use this forum and research a lot.  I also was tested for allergies so have to avoid certain ingredients too.  There are times I feel I manage it and times I do not .. but I have yet to find a GP or consultant who seems interested in taking things further.  In fact, and I quote one gynaecologist said 'this is as good as it will get, you need to cut down what you use' and ushered me out of the room !! Thank you for your comments, Dugie - its a nasty condition for all.

    No I rarely see any white spots since using castor/lavendar/tea tree oil mixture.

      Sadly I am allergic to tea tree & lavender but find coconut oil good.  I did get the previous large white spot which went away with trimethoprim for some strange reason.  Thank you.

      I thought the white spots were scar tissue,iv got a small line of white tissue on shaft forskin,it feels painful after friction ie sex,I'm circumscised does that mean eventually it could go,as I'm very worried,im using clobetasol,regards Martin

    I'm glad you can at least use coconut oil! I've had good results with that as well. This condition keeps us aware..always!😝
