This is how my clitoral hood looks, does it look like lichen or anything else? i have had itchiness and pain, been diagnosed with vulvodynia, but I don't know, I feel like it could be something else?

    Hi luisa96928,

My LS started similar to what you describe. I have been having stabbing pain in my clit due to pressure from clothing, crossing legs, etc, combined with mild to moderate itch for more than 2 years (I'm 35). Doctors did not diagnose me correctly until last month. You picture looks like LS to me, but I am no gynecologist. I my case, my clit hod was partially adhered to the clit and slightly white. Still waiting for the biopsy result but my gyn is almost 100% sure it is LS an she is going to put me on corticosteroid treatment for sure. I have also gone through PRP treatment which improved the clit adherence and the burning sensation that I was mistaking for an UTI, and also topical testosterone. Testosterone has not improved anything I think. At the moment I am trying different things to see what works best for me. Based on my experience, "regular" gynecologists might not identify your problem correctly, so my recommendation is that you try and search for one that is specialist in LS or at least in vulvar problems. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon 😃

Are there white patches? seems like there could be but not sure if its lighting. Your structure is fine so no adhesions there. Biopsy is the only definitive way to get diagnosis. Have you tried emuaid ointment, that is very good for any imflamed skin but really excellent for LS.
