Lichen Sclerosus and thrush

I’ve been struggling with chronic vaginal thrush for the last few years and since using clobetasol on the vulva for LS, I’ve been struggling with thrush externally as well. My specialist recommended using nilstat and I’m on long term fluconazole but it’s not fixing the problem. I’ve also been seeing a naturopath and I’m on a herbal mixture and probiotics. Any recommendations?

No nothing other than I've started using emu oil to help moisturizing. I was just diagnosed 2 moths ago.

Hi Isabelle, sorry for your plight. I'm 57 now, struggled to keep thrush under control since the age of 21. I've always found Fluconazole helps, the 150mg dose, from time to time. I have to buy it online now though, the GP won't let me have it as a back-up, I also drink Kefir, meant to be a good probiotic, as well as a good healthy diet of course. I also use some form of probioti that type of product, to keep vaginal flora balanced. I have LS, diagnosed recently, and am on the usual Clobetasol, oestrogen etc, also Vagifem tablets vaginally twice a week, so have to be careful about the possibility of thrush also. Best wishes, Maggie x
