Lichen Sclerosus misdiagnosis? Please help!

Hi there

I am looking for advice please.

I went to see a gynae mainly as I'm 46 and thought it was a good thing to start.

She asked if I had any issues and I don't really but did mention that just before I turned 40 I started getting a slight itch in my vulva. It's very minor and not persistent at all. One little scratch and it's gone for the day.

I am a very allergic person and also get itchy elsewhere on my head and body.

She then had a look and said it all looked very healthy and normal but she thought she could possibly see a very very faint white area and that meant I have LS and need to start on steroid cream. She then sent me on my way with a leafleft.

However, I asked where to put it on as I can't see any pale area at all and she said 'Just put it wherever you feel an itch.'

When i got home I spent along time in the mirror and took photos etc and I cant see any whiteness/redness/bumps or anything,

My husband also looked (took photos, even used a torch!) and could not see one area that looked a different colour. Nothing.

Given that I also dont have persistent itching, pain, burning etc etc, could this be a misdiagnosis?

Please help!

    Hello,

Maybe you should post some photos on here so we can also take a look at it and help you with that issue, maybe someone will be able to see it correctly 😃

    Best regards,

    Leila

Thanks Leila, I feel a bit too shy to post it online. But my hubby and three close family members have now seen a variety of pics covering the whole area and all angles and nobody can see any skin that looks in any way marked/damaged/different colour...........its so weird.
