Lichen sclersous and water wipes

Is it safe to use water wipes? I noticed that have a 0.01% grapefruit seed extract. Will that make it sting? I just don't know what to use to help get fecal residue off easier than toilet paper. I'M newly diagnosed and need some tips please.

Hi Toni,
I use Huggies Natural Care wipes and Ivory soap in the shower. I have done well with both products for quite a long while. Toilet paper just isn't an option for me.
Good luck.

You could just try using the water wipes. Have something readily to hand just in case they sting . I can't say if they will because personally I have never used the water wipes with grapefruit. Why don't you try using some coconut oil instead, I find it really soothing, and you could just use a small amount on a soft cloth, and rinse it with water afterwards. Hope this helps, regards Jackie xx

Hi Toni, GSE will not burn at all even full strength, I have used it for many years. I too use the wipes very carefull and gently, followed with a mild Borax solution in a spray bottle and then Vit E to moisturize. Please read "an experiment with Borax" on this site, you will be very glad you did! Good luck!

I see a specialist and she recommended using Crisco vegetable shortening. Just swipe the tissue paper through the shortening before wiping. It's effective and also soothing for the LS. I keep some in a small travel container that fits in my handbag so it's handy even if I'm away from home.
