Lichens Sclerosis Biopsy Healing

Posted , 2 users are following.

I received a vulvar biopsy one month ago to diagnose Lichens Sclerosis. The site of the biopsy is still a hole with a very dark/purple center. It is tender to the touch but no pus or bleeding. Does it really take this long to heal? I have been using Clobetesol for the LS that has helped. Should I be concerned about this hole not healing? No stitches involved.

I'm not a doctor, but I've been using topical steroids for chronic vulvar dermatitis for months.

I can tell you that skin can take forever to heal downthere (several weeks). It's also my understanding that clobetasol should not be used in open sores. I know it's hard to do but try to avoid putting some in the hole. You should look into Medihoney to help with your healing and prevent the clobetasol to get in.
