Light headaches often and thirsty from mesalazine?

Hey everyone, me again!

I've had a lingering headache for a while since taking my medication. It's really hurt twice but generally it's just a light irritating headache which makes me tired and not want to watch TV or look at screens? It makes me feel like I can't concentrate sometimes and just want to go to sleep. I am on mesalazine oral and enema. Does anyone else get these annoying achy heads?

    Hi,

When you are on any mesalazine, you must make sure you drink plenty of fluids ie, water, squash, fruit tea, to stay hyrdrated. (fluid intake wouldnt include coffee as that dehydrates) I think it says this in the product leaflet somewhere. If you are dehydrated it can cause headaches. Maybe try upping you fluids by 5/6 mugs of water, squash or fruit tea a day & see if the headachess disappear. Hope this helps.

      Hey,

Even before I was diagnose I was dehydrated often as I don't drink enough as it is. I usually drink 1-2 glasses of water a day, which I know isnt enough but I forget, thanks for the advice and I will remember to drink moresmile
