I have also been diagnosed with Labrynthitis.. Not sure if it's actually what's goin on because it was a pretty quick check up at ER. Extremely lightheaded and unbalanced is the major symptoms. Have goin it gets a lot worse when I'm out in the cold for a period of time. Been goin on for about 5 months now.. Back in September I had a really bad sinus cold. After those syomtoms passed, a few days late I got an extreme wave of lightheaded dizziness and was surprised I was still standing when I realized what was goin on. The only time it went away was when they gave me amox-clav pills and about 7 days in I felt 100 percent and the last few days of medication zero lightheadeness. After done with those everything came back a couple days later and never left. Was the amox clav pills just coincedent or maybe that tells me something?

Also very foggy headed... The sensation that I can best describe is the sensation of taking an elevator and the feeling right when it hits your floor.. Or riding a rollercoaster and gettin up to walk after ride is over.. When that initial attack happened at work, my legs were also extremely weak. Got real hot and sweaty on my forehead I remember. I remember I tried to walk around this lake a few days after and I kept leaning hard to the left. It was almost like I had to teach myself how to walk again.. Recently, I was tieing up a ship at work and start to get extremely lightheaded. It was very cold and didn't have anything on my ears.. Which almost seems to me it could be something with my ears because it was noticeably a lot worse. It was probably 20 degrees outside and was out there for about an hour. I had to hold on to the rail because I was worried about falling overboard and had someone else to do it. Hopefully you can help and thank you in advance for reaching out...

I can symphonies with you so much. My first stack with the dizziness was back in october 2013. I was on a course with work up in Sheffield. I woke up one morning and the room was spinning to the point I couldn't even stand up. To cut the story short I ended up in hospital for 3 days and I was diagnosed with labrynthitus. I had never heard of it but they said it should die down in a few weeks.

I had to get picked up and taken home by a work friend, I was in no state to drive.

I was off work for a month and when I went back I was far from right but but on a brave face, worried I might lose my job.

My head felt so fuzzy and when I walked I felt like I was rocking from side to side.

This lasted for about eight months. I saw an ENT specialist and he done some tests and said the labrynthitus had gone but my head will need time to a just back to normal.

I came off the medication (anti dizzyness tabs) because the doctor said my body needs to recover on its own rather than relying on meds.

It was only mid last year i started to feel normal again.

Its now been over 2 years and I still get headaches but all is good.

Its a terrible thing to go through but it will all work out.

What do you think do you think it is coincedental.  I think I would go back to the Dr's and find out. It would be one less thing to worry about.  Worrying about being dizzy and balance causes stress and stress will make things worse.   Maybe you should have been on the medication for a longer period of time.  You said theY did you good so go see the Dr and ask him.  Good luck and let us know what happens
