Lightheaded for 6 weeks

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows what is causing my lightheadedness. I have been lightheaded for the past 6 weeks, even when sitting and walking around, my head feels really light. Also my upper body is really weak, arm muscle are  weak.I can barely walk around without feeling like I'm gong to faint. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Thank you

I’ve been feeling the same way for 6 weeks. Got a CT and blood work done which was normal but now waiting on more blood tests results. (Testing now for autoimmune diseases and other stuff they don’t normally test for)

    Thanks for your replies,

I've had blood tests all clear, ecg all clear, as far as I can remember this all started after exercise so I'm not sure whether this has something to do with my blood sugar, because I feel lightheaded and sweating alot. Doctor says I don't have diabetes. Don't understand what's causing it.

Hoping you all get better soon

I've been suffering similar since last September. So many visits to the doctor over the following weeks.

My BP was high so I'm on meds for that. Then I was told I had Labrynthitis the migraine and even anxiety.

A new doctor at my surgery then sent me for a neck xray and it turns out I have slippage in my neck. She said this would cause my symptoms.

    I'm seeing a specialist tomorrow.

Good luck, hope you find some answers

I went for my appointment. He said yes there is slippage in neck but he's not too concerned about it at the moment but he was concerned about severe arthritis in neck. I do have Psoriatic arthritis and Osteoarthritis anyway but didn't even realise it was in my neck.

I'm under a Rheumatologist but they cancelled my appointment due to staff shortages so now waiting for a letter for another appointment.

    Any update??

I commented on your post 9 days ago and just want to let you know I came back positive for mono. Have you been tested for mono?

    Hope this helps.

      Sorry for the late reply

Hope you get well soon. Doctors not done any more testing, I can't seem to get rid of the light weightless head, shaking hands, and very weak legs, I really haven't a clue anymore

Hello again. Another update for you since we are having very similar symptoms. Even though I tested for positive for mono (EBV virus), my doctor says she doesn’t think that’s the cause of my symptoms. She look at my numbers from the blood test and sated the virus doesn’t seem to be actived so at “some point” I had mono. So basically I need to keep searching for what is wrong.

Since I last posted I’ve had an MRI of the brain and also MRI of my pituitary gland. Those were both normal. No signs of lesions (MS) or tumors (that was my worst fear). I’ve had my cortisol checked  and that was normal too. Currently I am waiting on results from my thyroid blood test. It’s my second test (different doctor). I wanted to be retested because my mom was tested multiple times before it showed up positive for hypothyroidism. And tomorrow I have another appointment to check for Lyme disease and also for vitamin deficiency.

I’m not giving up and I’m am determined to find out what is wrong. Hope this helps. Don’t give up.
