Lightheadedness

Hi, I have had a problem with lightheadedness or diziness. I am not sure where it comes from but it started 2 days ago. My doctor said it might be dehydration althouugh ever since then I have been drinking liters of water. and I do not feel any better. I am young so my doctor elminated other things like strokes. I am fine when I lay down flat, I barely feel anything when I am sitting and I feel the most when I am standing or walking. When I feel it, I can still walk and keep my balance but I become a bit more unblanced. It isn't anything serious since I can still focus and all I feel is just unbalanceness and my head feeling light. I have gotten blodd test and haven't heard since(happened yesterday). I am not sure if it will get worse or better. It would be nice if someone can tell what might be the problem.

I've had similar issues with dehydration and lightheadedness. I ended up in the ER, and was given and IV of fluids. Second time it happened I was also given an IV. I'm sort of surprised your doctor didn't send you to the hospital to get an IV of fluids. Last time I got it, I was told to add a little salt to my water. Avoid drinking cranberry juice. Add a little salt to your water and eat bananas to add potassium to your body. Was your blood pressure checked? I also get it from low blood pressure, if your blood pressure was fine, then it's probably dehydration.
One last thing, you can buy water that has glucose & dextrose usually found in your pharmacy that can also help with dehydration.

If you add a little salt & a pinch of sugar, to your water you should start to feel better almost immediately. The displacement of crystals is within the inner ear. I doubt anything would be able to affect it. If something did enter your ear, like a bug, the most you would feel is pain or discomfort.

Also, eat banana's or tomato's to help with adding minerals to your body while hydrating it.

Well, you're not going to take a shower in it, so yes, consume it.

Iv, of course, it gets into your blood stream fast. This is why I was surprised that you were told to just drink water, because some people, like me, can't absorb it fast enough to stop the malaise/dizzy feeling.
