Lightheadedness blocked ears for 6 weeks

Hi all

I have been dealing with constant lightheadedness and a blocked right ear for 6 weeks now. My left ear has also unblocked and blocked uo again twice. I have been to the doctor a number of times and even saw the ENT who told me I have nasal congestion/inflammation and it would take time to go away. I also had an allergy test but it came up negative. Mri was also negative. I went to the doctor again recently and he thinks it is more so from an infection and now I am on antibiotics. Some days I feel better than others and some days I feel a lot worse and very woozy and dizzy. It has been so many weeks now..I have been off work and I can barely leave the house most days. Has anyone had these symptoms? How long did they last? I've heard so many things now I don't know what to think..I have people around me for support but it's hard for them to understand. Feel like I'm in a prison world ..

Hi, sorry to hear about the frustrating symptoms that you are having. I have had those symptoms before but it has been some years. I own a tree service so I am always outside. When I was having the light head, feelings of imbalance and my ears clogging and unclogging it felt like it would never go completely away but it finally did but I can't contribute it to any specific medicine it just finally left. Hang in there and don't feel hopless, others have experienced it and look back at it. It will pass.

    Hello,

I too, have been struggling with these symptoms since a little before my last ear surgery. I still get plugged up and sick quite often, but as far as the lightheadedness goes, I tried to change some lifestyle habits. One thing that helped tremendously was getting to sleep at a decent hour and watching what I was taking in my body for food. I experienced "foggy brain" and lightheadedness for over a month, and felt like I was going to tip over a couple of times. I would start with a few simple life changes, and if that doesn't work, then do some more research on it. I found that I needed to give my body a little more rest and take care of it a bit more. I did get allergy meds, but I haven't really seen improvement there just because I've been sick. I feel like congestion has been a lot higher with everyone this year. I would try taking lots of vitamins and some sinus-clearing meds. I have heard putting Vicks on your feet when you go to bed helps. I suppose it may have to be experimenting Nd seeing what your body is responding too. Our ears, sinuses, everything is all connected, and it can take time to find the source. sad Hope this can be of help in any way. Take care!!! I hope you start feeling better-hang in there. smile

      Hi thanks for your comment.

Do you mind telling me what sorts of food or lifestyle changes you did that helped? Mainly just eating healthy? I already am gluten free and don't eat many takeaways or havs soft drink but I think I need to be careful with what I eat. Also I am taking a multi vitamin daily can you recommend any other vitamins? I am also seeing a naturopath so taking a herbal mixture daily. Some days the lightheadedness is really bad and I feel really woozy some days it's better I never know what causes the changes in it.

I haven't been consistent lately, but I take multivitamins as well, a B-vitamin complex (I think it's called), and a vitamin D (I live up north in cold Wisconsin, where we don't see the sun often in the wintertime). But I would say the thing that helped most was sleep. Always getting to bed at a decent hour, and for sure before midnight. I try to eat balanced, but your diet sounds healthier than mine anyhow!! I did notice I felt a bit more foggy after eating certain foods though. I try to always have fruit, veggies, some form of meat, and dairy.. But I found that after eating some things that seemed more processed or loaded with unnecessary, unhealthy ingredients, that I would feel pretty bad.

I also have been fighting sickness a lot, so I would take vitamin C. Not sure if that would help! Vitamins are always good. smile I kind of loaded up each morning. I hope you start feelings better, though. sad I would start logging times you do feel the dizziness more in search of the triggers or cause. I hope any of these suggestions prove to be helpful in any way. I researched dizziness, and initially , I thought it was due to my ears and the surgeries I've had.. But upon research, I found there are lots of reasons we could be dizzy or lightheaded. Process of elimination will hopefully help you figure it out. smile Praying for the best!

Still constantly lightheaded although sometimes it's more of a feeling of being off balance and sometimes woozy. My ear is still blocked, hitting the 8 week mark now. Bought this ear popper online hoping it will work. Will let everyone know if it does
