Limping after THR

Are there exercises to help with my limp? I'm about 10 weeks post THR surgery and still limp, with pain for the first 9/10 steps then it settles down a little and the pain goes away but an ache in my but remains
I got a clean bill of health last week from my surgeon...any suggestions?

It is common to have trouble when you first stand, I had this for 18 months or so - you need to keep building those leg muscles up.
There are exercise sheets online, look at my website, on the Online Resources page for references to exercises. My website address is in my personal info here ...

and at the bottom of the moderator's "useful resources" page at

It is worth it. I am nearly 3 months post op and have no limp at all.

I'm 8 weeks....I find when I first of all stand up it hurts and aches...I make a positive effort to pull right up and stretch my legs...and I'm concentrating on my stance holding myself up and walking properly....even if it's really slowly...if I'm going out and I know I will be walking quite a bit I will take painkillers...if I don't I find I will limp and I don't want it to become a habit....which I think it is easy to do...
