Link with strep B?

Still wondering about what all us sufferers have in common that may be a root cause in this terrible disease. From pregnancies I know I am a carrier of strep B. Is this something that anyone else can relate to and think may possibly be a common factor in development of lichen sclerosis?

It's an interesting idea, I am male and don't carry strep as I've been tested prior to my ls diagnosis and I've never even had a urine infection, normal blood sugar , fit as in runs marathons and have a black belt in judo. The literal first sign I had was the grey scar tissue that slowly spread making my foreskin tight. It's be awesome if there was a some factor cause I'm puzzled how I got this

I am currently working through a 4 month vitamin and pro biotic gut programme prescribed by a naturopath here in the UK....my current theory is that LS is triggered by unhealthy gut bacteria and possible parasite infestation triggered by the unhealthy bacteria in the gut.
This regime is changing my LS. It is the first thing that has given me hope that it may eradicate it......I have only used the steroid cream once in the past 10 days.....I am half way through the regime and will not know if it has worked until the end of the 4 months but at the moment I am feeling more optimistic than I ever have before and of course very healthy!!
Something causes LS, we should not have to live with the doctors opinion that 'there is no cure'. From a natural point of view, if there is something wrong inside us there has to be a reason why. Find this, treat it and then surely it can be cured?

Yes - no cure is unacceptable. Healthy gut is interesting but also I'm sure there are many non sufferers who follow standard and even unhealthy diets so what is extra trigger for L S? Management tips are very useful but I'd love to see more investigation into common features that existed before diagnosis.

I am hypothyroid, not on meds but follow Dr Brownstein's iodine protocol; also have Sjogren's syndrome (very dry mucous membranes) and the associated joint pains.

I started a thread on here about what things triggered LS and several of us agree stress but also a history of gynae surgery came up. Mine started after biopsy and treatment for abnormal cells in cervix. Apart from the steroid treatment, borax and moisturizing, I have oestrogen cream which has helped. (I am post menopause). I am also trying vitamins and pro-biotic as I have read on here that others are benefitting from this regime. I haven't heard about strep B being a possible cause though.

Karen, I am not sure HPV has any link to LS as such, my doctor says not, do you think so? I do think that any problems in that area (HPV or VIN) and subsequent treatment can trigger LS and I think that's what happened to me. I was also going through a very stressful period in my life, so guess my immune system was low.
interesting you've found that LS followed your HPV diagnosis too though, maybe doctors should look more closely at a possible link.
