    Hello Chris

I had the linx procedure 2 weeks ago so

Still early days but so far so good.

Your doctor or consultant should be able

To give you information about all the

    Surgery options for reflux surgery.

I did receive information about both and

I took a full year to decide which path to

Go down the Nissan or Linx procedure

I felt the Linx procedure was the better

    Option for me.

I wish you all the best and hope you feel

    Better very soon .

      Hi Chris

I have suffered from serve reflux

      Problems for many years.

      Sleeping and eating had become

      Extremely difficult.

The pain was excruciating and I

      Would constantly be belching.

      I was sick everyday.

I also had difficulty talking due to

The acid burning my throat and

Nose. I also had serve heartburn

I had to take high dosege of

      Ranitidine and esomeprazole

      I also took Gaviscon throughout

      The day and night.

      I'm 16 days post surgery

The first week I did not feel too great

But I am now feeling much better

I'm off all medication the only issue

I have had is certain foods bread , rice

Seem to become stuck this causes a discomfort feeling for a very short

I can breath and I've been told I'm not

In any danger of choking as its

Getting stuck above the linx device.

I need to remember to chew and eat

Smaller sized bites and slower to

      Help prevent this from happening

I have been told this will improve

Over time. Its the device getting

      Used to opening and closing.

I've no reflux and I am very happy

That I have had the linx procedure

Hi Chris I had mine done at royal

Devon and Exeter hospital ( located in Exeter).

If you put a search in for the linx

Procedure Exeter hospital it will bring

      Up information

I did have to have a few tests before

I was put on the list

Thanks Summer.  Have looked at hospital details and there seems to be a very good specialist surgeon there.  I had thought of Birmingham, but this looks a better alternative.  I have had tests done at Winfield hospital in Gloucester so once having talked to my Consultant there should be able to transfer.  Really appreciate your help.  thank you,

Eating had improved this week no

More food getting stuck I have

Stopped all meds and I have been

Able to eat things I couldn't eat before

      The procedure.

I have undergone linx surgery in Los Angeles UCS.

The surgery went well and had small problems in swallowing but unfortunately the acid never stopped coming up and then I contacted doctor.

He told to use Priolosec for few days until Linx ring works.I used medicine for 15 days and then stopped.

I can feelthe symptoms start within a day.I got frustated with this procedure, the only advantage is If I use medcine everyday atleast the symptoms are very less.

I used medcines for three years as of sudden even my medcines stopped working , now I'm screwed up.I hate going to doctors and going through all procedures

Don't play with your life with these fancy devices please..

What is the downside to LINX procedure? I am also thinking about doing this. I have LPR has anyone had this for it and was it successful. What is recovery like and how long does it take to heal? Any side effects from operation even though its laproscopic what is a realistic healing time?
