Lipoma or sarcoma

i have a lump on the back of my leg. its below my glute, on the right leg to the left hand side. i got it checked about 8/9 month ago, with a US and she couldnt see anything. the lump hasnt grown, no pain, soft to touch and about 5cm by 3cm oval shape. just keeps playing on my mind that she may have missed something. if it was a cancerous lump, are they usually hard? and would it have grown in the 8/9 months since last getting it checked? TIA
