I was first diagnosed with this condition about 8years ago, awful itching , numerous creams etc,
I was advised to use dermavate every other day then twice a week and it's been under control more or less, however I now have 2 major problems the awful itching which isn't releaved by the dermavate and painfull sex, I was cut when I had my first child and now I feel like I'm splitting open,I feel like a freak at times, my criteris is so sensitive since all the itching I'd be happy to wear loose fitting pyjamas all day!
if anyone has any advice I'd be so grateful, like a lot of the doctors when I've been before you almost feel you are taking up their time and yet all you want is to feel normal "down there".
One more thing does anyone feel stress ever plays a part in this condition?.

I am in the same boat. It's awful. I was also cut when I had my first child and I feel like at times it may rip open. Everyday I am irritated and have something going on. It's swollen on one side or irritated bumps. I've been t doctors and they all make me feel like I am crazy. I use cerva and it doesn't stop the itch. Have you tried clob? Sadly it burned to badly when I tried to use it but for a lot of women it helps. If you need a friend to vent to I am here!

Hi and thank you for your reply, It's just so reassuring talking to someone else in the same position over something so personal.
Its the itching that just drives me mad, I've just looked at the cream what I use and I see it is clob, trade name( dermavate), I think because I'm so sore that does make it burn now whereas before it worked after one treatment,I haven't heard of Cerva, is that the full name?.
I think I need to get back to my doctor again and ask to see the dermatology specialist again, at the moment I see my doctor on a yearly basis, these last few weeks it's got out of hand and It isn't going to go away on its own!.
Really appreciate your reply, Thankyou for being there.

Oh, I understand i am actually going to my doctor tomorrow I go to a pelvic panic doctor who specializes in vaginal issues. Cerave is the full name. I have itching in the perineum area and it drives me crazy as well. Clob always burns me I think it is because the skin down three is already thin. Its awful I swear there has not been one day that I have felt "normal" downstairs! If you can you should look around to see if there is a specialist near you that maybe you could go to. I have suffered for years with issues and am just now finding out whats going on. Do you have the white patches? I do in the perineum but no fusing but it has always been painful to have sex. Sorry if that is Tmi. Some women on here swear on borax. I have yet to try it.

Don’t forget to moisturize with emu and/or coconut oils. Soap is irritating, and oddly enough, you don’t need soap, since the tub soaks are very cleansing.
I don’t use steroids, and have found healing with these natural remedies. I wouldn’t drink borax.
Hang in there, you will get better!

Hi Anna,
thankyou for all the advice you have given, I will certainly look on the thread about borax, sounds like good sound advice and I'm open to anything as I'm sure we all are on this site.
Personally I think all you people who've experienced this nasty condition are more helpful than any of the experts, you've actually lived it all so know what you are talking about. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, that's very true! We know far better how to treat this condition than most doctors do, who just write a prescription for steroids and send you off.
One more thing, after every trip to the bathroom, I rinse with a solution of water and baking soda (a few pinches of baking soda in an 8 oz. perineum bottle). It's kind of like a mini bidet, and helps keep the ph balance healthy, as urine can be acidic.
It all seems like a lot to do, but after a while it becomes routine.
