Live in carer and benefits

anyone know what the protocol would be if I end up with a live-in carer ? I'm finally getting somewhere with all my problems I'm seeing a rheumatologist specialist in August which will hopefully give me the answers I need and I'm just trying to weigh up my options at the moment . I'm receiving help daily getting out of bed getting to the toilet getting dressed etc wile I find out if this is going to get any better or if I'm just going to carry on getting worse and I just realised I don't know what the protocol would be if I was to go for a live in carer if things come back that my problems are going to carry on getting worse as I received benefits would they put me down as cohabiting even though I'm not in a relationship with anyone or would it all just say the same and how would it work with housing as I'm a council tenant? other options have already been looked into but as I don't have any friends and keep my self to myself the Telecom system is useless to me and so is the payment scheme for me to hire someone I know . Any insite into this would be very much appreciated as I can't seem to find anything online to do with it.

    HI,

This is extremely complicated and for this very reason you both really do need to get some face to face advice from either your local CAB or Welfare rights. Sometimes it's not possible to give advice on an internet forum and this is one of those times. There's just too many things to consider. By getting advice from an agency you'll be able to tell them all of your circumstances, what benefits you claim, what benefits your carer claims, if any. They will then be able to advise you correctly.
