Liver cysts

An ultra sound scan found that my liver is enlarged due to liver cysts - 3 large, my liver function is normal and my kidneys are clear, but I'm having awful indigestion and my appetite is poor because I feel sick all the time. Is there anyone else out there that has liver cysts without kidney cysts? Are the kidney cysts likely to come later?

Hi Sharon have they given you a reason for you liver condition, what treatment are they offering you, I think you need to try and make an appointment to see your consultant and discuss what's the best route to take, you don't say how old you are or whether you have any other health issues, do you have a reason to think you will automatically developed kidney cyst's

      Hi Alex,

ive got an appointment with a specialist on the 7th of this month, so so far I've been offered no idea what is going to happen.

Im 60 years old and have no idea why this is happening to me. Apart from the indigestion and nausea I'm quite healthy. I'm a non drinker/non smoker. I'm just worried that they

1.may turn cancerous, although they are assuring me that they're benign at the moment.

      2. Is there an underlying problem that's caused them?

Hi I'm glad your appointment is not too far away and the fact that they are being honest and telling your the cysts are none malignant is good news and in all honesty they don't normally become cancerous as far as I know, they will probably just keep an eye on them, the liver is the cleverest organ in the body after the brain
