Liver ? Gallbladder ? Pancreas ? What do I have ?

Hi Guys,

?I was sick at the beginiing of January so I went to my GP. Bellyache after eating, nauseas, diharea and abdominal pain. He gave some drugs but did not work. So I did a blood test. Gamma GT were 260, ALP 130 and ALT 140.

?I went to the hospital for a ultra sound. They thought I had gallstones. I did an MRCP to confirm. They could not see anything, everything seemed normal.

?They realeased me from the hospital,  as the pain was going away the blood test were getting a bit better day after day. They told  me not to drink alcohol, eating healthy, avoiding fat food until my next appoitment in May.

?Which I did for 2 months. I had another blood test last week : gamma gt 300, ALT 180 and ALP 150. It's always painful after eating, I fell like my belly is swollen and feel like throwing up. if I eat very light, everthing is fine.

?My question is, what could it be ? The hospital accepted to give me an appoitment by the end of March but I am kind of worried.

?It's been 3 months now.

?I'm 25, I do sports and I used to drink once a week.

Thank you,

Valentin

    HI Andrew

I can only help by saying before i was diagnosed with chirosis of the Liver they thought it was a pancreas problem which it turned out not to be the case, i had similar symptoms to yourself when they though it was pancreatitis but further tests and more indepth liver tests and different altering symptoms turned out to be my Live issues, so until you have the further tests and actually have diffinitive answer try your best not to worry.

Unfortunaltey i cannot have a look at my readings as the letter that they are on has been sent to Leeds specialist Liver team otherwise i would willingly see if they are similar or not.

So unfortunaltey all i can say at this moment in time is try not to worry until there is something to worry about if anything, i know its easier said than done but try your best, and also dont be worried about making a nuisance of yourself by rining up on a regular basis to find out when your appointment is definatley going to be, as you have the right to know about your own body and just because they are used to seeing people with problems all the time we as patients are one person without the specialist knowledge to know what to do.

Good luck and make sure they dont fob you off at all, if yournot happy tell them in no uncertain terms

I hope all is ok and it works out fine chin up if you can
