Hi there I've been on Livial Tibolone 2.5mg for nearly 6 weeks. I also had very bad side effects for the first 3-4 weeks. Sicky first few days. Drawing pains in both legs, all day for a week. Awful headaches then a painful neck. Mood swings & so far I've had two full on periods. However I'm going to stick with it a while longer as it is the best HRT I've tried so far. All the side effect I first had have gone except for a weird pressure head & jaw which I get every afternoon. Worse when I'm hungry & stressed at work! My night sweats & hot flushes have stopped, I still have my normal libido & apart from period time it's pretty good with good spirited moods instead of depression. So if you can or want to, give it a fair chance before deciding. Hope you feel better soon wink

Hi Wendy, I have just posted a reply to Colleen about Livial. I had no side effects at all as far as I can remember - approx 21yrs ago - I just know that the positive difference was almost immediate. Mmm, it worries me when I read the side effects that some ladies are having. I think 2-3 weeks is long enough to try it, then I would definitely have a chat with the doctor. It just doesn't suit everyone and used to only be prescribed to those who'd had a Hysteroctomy or whose periods had all but ceased. Back then it wasn't recommended for those still having periods. As far as libido is concerned mine is still going strong and I'll be 70 next month. Good luck though I hope things settle down. LadyPink

Dear Colleen, I've been on Livial for about 21yrs and it suits me fine and did right from the start. Within three days the positive difference was quite marked. As with most drugs prescribed for us, what suits one doesn't necessary suit another. I would make an appointment to see your doctor again as it doesn't sound as though this is the right one for you.
