Localized Chest Pain

Please lend me your time and hear my problems...

I have been having chest discomforts lately for 2 months now.

•Left side, always on the sternum (vertical) then the third rib (horizontal)

•Feels hollowed/empty when I have my attacks

•Slight bruising on the left sternum.

•Tender to touch, pains when i slouch and reposition

It started when I slouched over a long time while playing my phone. So I tried to stretch out and felt a pop and felt very lightheaded and out of breath.

•Back pain in between shoulder blades, left side (same side as front). I’ve been having that since a decade, but it came back more frequent now specially when I slouch.

•2 weeks after it started, I travelled from East coast to the Philippines and carried a 15 kgs shoulder bag while walking at airports.

•1 month later, pain still there.

But I also have these problems:

•I’m 26, male, 5”6, overweight

•Cholesterol problems prior (but I managed to control it since I got to the Philippines)

•3 weeks coughing and sore throat (due to a concert I’ve attended and exacerbated from the weather).

Thank you for hearing me out. It’s really discomforting to have this feeling... But I really want to know what your opinions are before I get to the doctor.

Lots of love, Kevin.

I'm not a Dr but have researched this a ton and from how you got it, the repositioning, and other symptoms leads me to believe you have Costocondritis. You can type in "My Costocondritis story" on youtube and people will talk about your symptoms, good luck mate

Thank you so much. I feel that it’s more on musculoskeletal than cardio since it’s more superficial. Will try to research more on what you have said. smile
