Lockdown has been a blessing in disguise for my acne and the mental health issues which come with it. I had just started a 5mg course of Isotretinoin back in February and had tables which lasted me until April. I had a follow up appointment and second blood test booked for March but due to coronavirus they were both cancelled and since then (despite initially trying to make contact through my GP and dermatologist directly back in May) I haven’t heard anything. It's like they have just forgotten about me, which is a concern seeing as this medication is supposed to have serious side effects. Luckily I didn’t have any but was disappointed my journey came to an abrupt end.

However, what the time in lockdown has allowed me to do is leave my skin alone. As I was lucky enough to work from home, I didn’t have to cover up my acne with things which maybe antagonised it so my skin was allowed to be natural. The red marks had time to heal by themselves so I didn’t need to stress about it being bad in the office or people seeing it. I had more time to prepare better quality healthy foods and get more daily exercise. Today my skin is 100% clear and I haven’t had active acne since June.
