Hi had my knee replaced 1 year ago in April , now all of a sudden my knee has locked when I sit down, I am finding it very difficult to straighten it and so pain full to get out of a chair, I basically have to let my knee click several times before I can straighten it. Anybody any ideas why y his has happened

My experience with my knee locking was after a fall I took onto grass and broke my femur. They put a rod in the femur bone but didn't check around the knee. I had also torn the inside ligament away from the knee but no one noticed it till my knee started twisting and locking. It took an entire year for me to convince the doctor my knee was twisting. I had had a TKR 10 years earlier (bilateral) and with so much metal in my leg ... any tests they took of this leg wasn't showing them any issues. I finally told them to give me a new knee then and I'm sure the problem will go away. They did that. They went in and gave me a larger knee replacement and of course found out that the ligament was completely torn away from the knee and not doing anything for me FOR A YEAR! So... make sure your ligaments are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Stupid doctors... I'm really getting tired of their ignorance.
