After a bit of advice please - am travelling to usa on Thursday where food will be out of my control on the flight.  Am thinking of not taking the tablets for the day when travelling and starting  taking them again on Friday.  What would you do?

Thanks

Being honest i wouldn't take them if i was on holiday however i wouldn't go mental and eat like i used to.

Ii would make healthy choices but have a couple of treats whilst away do you mean you not taking them for 24 hours? if you did by taking them for 24 hours wouldn't really do anything obviously apart from giving you side efects if you ate something over 5g.

Thanks - i was meaning not taking them whilst travelling so effectively missing out a day

am staying with my sister so at least I will have some control over what I eat as will explain to her while I'm there.

      No problem

Nothing will happen i used to miss days on them. If you are going to stick to the 5g rule then stay on them if that is what you want to do but if it was me i would come off them and go full steam ahead when i got back but that is me as i would see a holiday as time to let my hair down but not go mental

I think I would agree with Britney. A holiday, should be just that. Thats what you work hard for by sticking to low fat eating/orlistat for. I dont think I would take them and certainly not on a flight. Unless you know of course you wont have anything above 5gm which I dont think you can ever be sure of when it is out of your control. Be on the safe side. Then once you know how much fat you are taking, you can restart the Orlistat. Have a great trip! smile

Thanks for your replythink I will miss Thursday tablets and start back on Friday - have a feeling if I don't restart I will lose control and let myself down and lose my momentum of wanting to lose weight!

Personally, I would avoid the tablets the day before the flight as well. My experience is that they stay in your system and carry on working for up to a day after you stop taking them. Like Britney, I wouldn't take them at all on holiday and just eat carefully. Hope you have a fab holiday! X

I have my 4th weigh in on Wednesday (get weighed every 2weeks ) so think I'll see how I get on then - always find I seem to dread weigh in day - and stop taking them after tea tonight to give my body chance not to react on Thursday with the airline food. ...

thanks for your advice girls x
