Long lasting pain after endoscopy

Okay like 3 months ago I had an endoscopy done. I had it done because I was having trouble swallowing and felt like there was a lump in my throat. I have never had chest pain before in my life. The doctor said he dilated my esophagus even though it looked "wide open" because he thought it may help with my swallowing? Which makes no sense. If it doesn't need to be done why do it? Anyway I finally thought the chest pain was gone a month ago but now it's back. I feel like i should have never had the stupid thing done. I'm 27 and in good shape and I eat healthy. The pain isn't intense just enough to annoy me all day long and eventually drive me crazy. I have gone back to the doctor twice who says it has nothing to do with the endoscopy. But I felt the pain for the first time in my life after the procedure. I have no other health problems so I'm so confused. Please tell me someone had something similar and it went away.

did they do biopsy? if so, is it a sharp kind of pain? i had my last endoscopy without sedation so i was aware of every biopsy he took. totally comfortable! no pain... until he took a deep spot towards the top, kind of center in my chest. oof, soo painful and that sharp pain lasted for a month or two. it took a long time to heal.

Thank you for your response! I am so sorry. That is terrible. I can't believe would they do something so ridiculous. You think it eventually has to heal right? That is what I keep thinking. Please let me know if she recovers.

    Hello @payton,

I am having something pretty similar to you it seems as I have a constant chest pressure in my chest that comes in the left, right, and middle along with stabbing pains. Mine has been happening now for two months since my endoscopy. Did yours ever resolve?
