Long neck bladder...

Hi everyone, I've been following this site for 2 years, due to consideration of REZUM vs. Urolift. I went to my Uro doc yesterday to set up a Urolift procedure. Just for the record, I have had every test, including a sleep study. Anyway, doc did another scope. Afterwards he kind of frowned and said that I have a high neck bladder. He said he could do the Urolift, but the results wouldn't be as good. He said a TURP would be the best procedure. Or, possibly, Urolift with a TUIN. I told him a TURP was not what I wanted to hear because of RE. I've seen high neck bladder mentioned occasionally on this site, didn't really follow comments. Also, not familiar with TUIN.

Thoughts?!!

Thanks, Kenny

Not aware of "TUIN". Do you mean "TUIP"?

TUIP makes incision in the bladder neck, so still a decent chance of retro. It also may have to be repeated. Is Urolift and TURP all your urologist offers? There's also Rezum with about a 10% chance of retro.

Could be TUIP, trying to read Dr's handwriting... I feel pretty informed on different procedures, a lot thankfully to this board. Looking for info regarding long neck bladdder.

Jim  It took me a while but I found it TUIN does mean Incision of the bladder neck.  Just like you said.  And this get me Kenny tell the doctor that he does not want the Turp because of the Retro and he offers him a procedure that will do the same thing.  I want to know who this doctor is.  Ted Lamson the inventor of the Urolift told me that he will stand by the Urolift and no doctor has permission to add anything to the Urolift procedure.  I just got a e-mail from the company Ted is talking with the doctors in the UK and Australia that they were cliping the bladder neck open and doing laser neck with it.  He will not stand for it.  He told me that Urolift was invented so a man has the option of keeping is sex lives intact and not lose his ejaculation.  I would like his name and were he is at.  I am the one that gave him the name of the doctors in the UK and Australia.  This has to stop.  They are causing more harm then good  Take care  Ken

Thanks for clarifying TUIN. I do want point out that it was my understanding that the TUIN was done at the same time as the urolift. I could have misunderstood. I was very disappointed when he told me that I wasn't a perfect candidate, and was trying to process the long neck bladder information.

I was told that a representative from Urolift is present during the procedure. I would think if doing something else was not allowed the rep would say something. I will follow up on that.

      Thanks.

Good morning.  When I had the talk with Ted Lamson the inventor of the Urolift he told me that no doctor will be able to use the Urolift with any other procedure because it changes the procedure all together.  And they will not stand by it.  The doctors did not get the ok from urolift to do this they are doing this on there own.  I also look up the information bladder neck surgery.  It take a long time to heal and they say 4 out of 10 will get retro and it may not even work.  It will do the same as a TURP.  Do you want to take that chance with your sex life.  I don't know if you read my PM to you but they is a guy on here that is in the UK that his doctor did a Urolift on hin and cliped his bladder neck open.  He still can't pee on his own and he is in pain all the time. He is sorry he even say yes.  Has to ware pads also.  Try the Urolift alone it is a good procedure and it will relieve the pressure of the bladder.  Why cause yourself more problems  Ken
