Long period after Mirena removal

I had mirena for 5 year. I had almost a year of spotting then was fine (no periods, occasionally spotted an hour if that a month) until I removed it last Monday with no issues. The first day after removal was fine no spotting or anything but by the second night bam heavy period. It is now normal/heavy but this is the sixth day and still not showing signs of stopping. Is this normal to get a long first period after iud removal? If so how long should I expect this to last?
