Long suffering Lichen Sclerosus

My lichen sclerosis was diagnosed approx 2-3 years ago. I am 71 years  old . I have used frequently the steroid. It mainly keeps it in check but I have recently had several dreadful bouts of severe itching, burning and no sleep for two nights. Towels from the freezer and ice packs I was using constantly through the night  . It eventually quietened down. I continue to use  steroid ointment. It is truly a  menace a torture! Has anyone any other remedy please? The Emuaid sounds good but the price is extortionate! Is this available on the NHS? Any positive advice will be so  before this drives me mad. I also suffer Psoriasis for the past 66 years. Ointments have been a large part of my life...
