Has anyone been on this drug long term? i have been on this drug 25 years but trying to come off it. Is there anyone who is going through same?

hello there. yes 7 years i've been on Amitriptyline. its my 3rd time now weaning myself off in 3 years. 3rd time lucky. its not pleasant. but i feel this drug no longer helps after years of use also keeps u from losing weight which is the main reason im tapering off.

Not sure if you've read my post replying to Lucien but Ive been trying for about 3 years to get off this drug too. I know what you mean about the weight issue but unfortunately these drugs do make you gain weight & the older I get the more difficult it is to lose it. Do you take it for depression/anxiety?
