Long term effect from Gerd - eye vision issue plus more

I am now joking about writing the book about my GERD journey but i remember days i was not in a mood to crack a smile.
It is soon going to be one year since GERD kicked off - and only later on finding out that this was with the help of HPylori.
Although i am off on Omeprazole, i still have worsened eye vision, not seeing sharp, slight blurry vision. Got checked at the eye hospital and they could not see anything wrong with eyes.
Does anyone else struggle with this? Finally i have managed to get an appt with the specialist and was put forward for gastroscopy, still date to be confirmed, due to Covid, possibly longer than desired. 😦
GERD is more less under control, however I tend to have this difficulty to burp moments, like something is still in a way. Since last year i also started to have these weird headaches, tension/sinus ones, it got that bad i was rushed to get CT scan done in case it was more than a headache. Nothing showed up. Trillion blood tests for different causes, all good without abnormalities.
GERD affected my throat so badly, i went to see ENT, had a nasal endoscopy - all fine which was a shocker, used to be in so much pain in the past that i thought of worst.
Also had colonoscopy after some persisting bleeding - piles, nothing sinister. Just getting worried on how long to wait for gastroscopy as i believe there is cause in either stomach or esophagus. I can eat normally, no pain swallowing anymore, no heartburn.
Anybody else with similar troubles?

It sounds like your optic nerves were affected by GERD. That kind of inflammation might also be causing the weird headaches and the lingering throat pain. A lot of people who've been diagnosed with GERD can't get rid of the neurological damage and are then diagnosed with LPR, but Laryngeal Sensory Neuropathy is also an option. I thought I had LPR because I had most of the symptoms, but nothing I did helped. Aside from the sore throat, I had post-nasal drip, a random dull pain in my left ear and occasional blurred vision in my right eye. Same thing, I got my eyesight checked and was told nothing was wrong. I really think the issue is an inflamed vagus nerve in my case. Antidepressants can be really effective for neuropathic pain.
Hope your gastroscopy goes well!
