Long term effects of gallbladder removal on stools?

i had my gallbladder removed 12 years ago and i have notice recently that i am passing pale stools. theyre not white or clay coloured but more a light brown / tan / yellowish colour. has anybody else experienced anything like this? i honestly couldnt say how long its been going on for

    Sir you are normal. any pain or anything out of the norm. brown or light colored stools are normal.

    yeah im having upper epigastric pain the kast few days but the tan / yellow stools have definitely been around a while

      hi - usually the simplest explanation for the lighter color of stool is your diet. do you eat mostly lighter colored foods? Second, bile can cause the yellowish color and can irritate your gut if there's nothing in your intestines to absorb it. Questran (cholestyramine - I may have spelled that wrong) is an inexpensive drug that can help with that and is known to be pretty safe to take. Check with your doc.
